The Story: God Builds A Nation

Sep 27, 2026  •  Pastor Shawn Bowman

What does it mean to truly trust God when the path forward makes no sense? This message takes us on a journey through one of the most profound stories in all of Scripture, tracing the thread of God's redemptive plan from the ancient city of Ur all the way to the cross. We explore the Abrahamic covenant and its fourfold promise, discovering that God's plan was never just for one people or one place, but for every nation and every soul. At the heart of it all is a God who deliberately chooses the unlikely, the aged, and the imperfect to demonstrate that his glory, not human talent, is what moves history forward. We see ourselves in Abraham and Sarah, people who laugh at promises that seem impossible, who take matters into their own hands when the waiting grows unbearable, and who sometimes need to be brought to the edge of everything before we discover that God truly does provide. The message invites us to ask honestly where we are standing in our own faith journey, and whether we are still watching from the edge of the pool or whether we have learned to leap into the arms of a Father who has never once failed to catch us.
