Restored and Commissioned

This powerful message takes us to the shores of the Sea of Tiberias in John 21, where we witness one of the most tender restoration scenes in all of Scripture. After Jesus' resurrection, the disciples find themselves in a crisis of faith, wandering back to their old lives of fishing, uncertain of what comes next. Their three years with Jesus seemed to end in confusion and fear at the cross, leaving them questioning everything they thought they believed. Yet Jesus doesn't abandon them in their doubt. He meets them exactly where they are, standing on the shore and calling out to them. Through a miraculous catch of fish and a breakfast by the fire, Jesus restores Peter through three profound questions: 'Do you love me?' Each question undoes Peter's three denials, healing what was broken. But Jesus doesn't stop at forgiveness. He gives Peter and the disciples renewed purpose: 'Feed my sheep.' This narrative reminds us that God's character is one of relentless pursuit. When we wander in our faith, when silence feels deafening, when we question everything we once held dear, Jesus is still there, calling us back. He restores our presence with Him, rebuilds our relationship, and renews our purpose. The invitation isn't just to be forgiven but to follow, to surrender our lives as Christ surrendered His, and to join His mission of feeding His flock.
